Evans City site Adds Secondary LDPE Bag Supplier

January 14, 2022 - As 2022 begins, supply chain issues and raw material availability at our vendors continue to be problematic with no end in sight. As a result, Ascensus Specialties has been evaluating our supply chain in total to identify ways to proactively mitigate any supply issues. As a result, we are pleased to announce that we have identified and approved a second supplier for our Low-Density Polyethylene (LDPE) bags.

Like for Like Material Change:

The LDPE film used to produce bags from the secondary supplier is the same, FDA-approved film used by our primary supplier. The bags are an exact, like for like change with respect to the material of construction. Mil thickness, tensile/puncture strength, and anti-static properties are the same.

Size Difference:

The only difference between the two LDPE bags is the size of the bag. Our standard bag is 29 inches wide and 24 inches long. The bag from the secondary supplier is 24 inches wide and 30 inches long.

Products that could be Affected:

300009: Potassium tert.-butylate
300016: Sodium tert.-amylate
300019: Sodium tert.-butylate
500013: CalSelect® STAB

Please note, the addition of this secondary supplier only applies to the above-listed product produced by the Ascensus – Evans City Facility.
